Funding

Dalhousie Place (Brantford & District Supervised Access Centre) is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS). Support programs are funded by the United Way of Haldimand & Norfolk (Parenting After Separation) and Brant United Way (K.A.T.C.H. & Parenting After Separation) and community donations.

WHAT IS SUPERVISED
PARENTING TIME?

When parents separate, access visits with children may be a problem. For various reasons the Decision- Making Parent may have concerns regarding the Access Parent having unsupervised visits with their children. As well, difficulties sometimes arise between the parents at the time of exchange of the children.

The Supervised Access Centre offers separated families a way to deal with some of these problems. The Centre also provides a large, child friendly play centre where visits and exchanges can take place under the supervision of trained staff and volunteers.

Dalhousie Place Supervised Access Centre provides safe, neutral, child-focused services including supervised visitation, exchanges, and support for families.
Volunteers supervise parents/visitors and children during access periods and exchanges. They ensure factual documentation of observations regarding access visits and monitored exchanges.
